William Vance Woodburn, 93 of Donora passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 after a short battle with COVID-19.
William was born May 27, 1927 and was the son of Alvie Woodburn and Helen Hodgekiss Woodburn. He was a World War II veteran joining the war effort late in the war. After the war William worked for US Steel until his retirement. In his spare time he loved music and learned to play the guitar at a young age and become a fairly well-known local musician playing in numerous bands well into his later years. His biggest Idol was Chet Atkins and throughout his playing career he tried to emulate everything he did musically. William is survived by his son William David (Jennifer) Woodburn of Donora, daughter Donna (Lawrence) Woodburn Harrison of Donora, Sharan (Glenn) Woodburn Lowden of Charleroi and Amy (Thomas) Woodburn Muckle of Virginia Beach, VA. In addition to his children he is survived by his 7 grandchildren Kimberly, Justin, Jeffery, Matthew, Natalie, Amanda and Kaitlyn and numerous great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Margaret, son William V Woodburn Jr., his brothers Jack Tooney and Donald Woodburn and sister Esther Mascetta, and granddaughter Monica Carfrey.
